Day 11 of The Year Apart (and Sometimes Not)
Charles Suggested:
"Today’s Challenge:
Download the app 'Acapella.'
Make a 1 minute piece.
Post it."

a Twintertaining Duo
The Haines Sisters are lifelong twins and collaborators. Davis lives in LA. Charles lives in Hawai'i. They missed each other and making fun stuff together. So they challenged each other to make something every day in 2018. This is the Year Apart (and Sometimes Not).
Charles Suggested:
"Today’s Challenge:
Download the app 'Acapella.'
Make a 1 minute piece.
Post it."

And Charles' piece:
Charles sent Davis this prompt:
"Today’s challenge:
Choose a song that is 20-60 seconds in length.
Do facography (choreography of the face) to the song.
Record it. Post it."
Here are the results!
Davis chose the "Interlude" from Ben Folds' 1997 project Fear of Pop:
Charles chose "Pig," the closing track from The Books' 2006 record Music for a French Elevator and Other Oddities:
Weekend Challenge #2:
We were both quite busy this weekend, but we didn't let that stop the flow of creativity! We decided to learn a cover and perform it.
Simple as that.
Davis covered "I Will" by the Beatles from The White Album:
Charles covered "I'm Getting Ready" by Michael Kiwanuka from Home Again:
It's Day 4, January 4th 2018, and the creativity continues.
It's our first Fresh Fridays, a new weekly series inspired by Davis' suggestion:
"Day 4: You Must Hear This
Make a 3-5min video “review” of an album, song, artist, podcast, exotic musical instrument, or cosmic vibration that you don’t think I’ve heard yet but should."
We each did so and have decided to release a similar video each Friday hereto-forth.

It's Day 2, January 2nd 2018, and the creativity continues.
The first day's challenge had taken Davis 2.5 hours and he was hesitant to continue daily.
Charles encouraged Davis that it was all worth it:
"We gotta try and do something daily. I know it seems like a lot but if we want to make it our lives, we gotta carve out a little time of our lives each day and let it grow.
It can be simple. Like a haiku using the word 'sponge'
That’s today’s challenge
A haiku using the word 'sponge'"
Here are the results:
Davis
Though you scrub the grime
That's clung to my plates and bowls
You smell, so farewell.
Charles
She Pleads Out of rage
“No!” and the Girl’s father knew
she absorbed Each word
It's Day 1, January 1st 2018, and the creativity challenge begins.
Charles began with a (seemingly) simple proposal:
"Today’s challenge: make a 10-30 second stop-motion video.
I will be doing the same.
You have until midnight."
